A House In Kyiv
Kenzhybekov House This site is a beautiful area with full of aged trees, fresh air, a natural neighborhood. Our aim by making this concept is to create a living experience where the whole family can enjoy the beauty of the nature from exterior and interior. The house by it's form creates a comfortable outdoor space where kids can play safely in the garden, the family can enjoy outdoor dining and relaxing. A house needs to create a space where you can be protected from the outdoor conditions. It needs to create a feeling of safety and trust. In Ukraine weather conditions this is more crucial. For that reason we tried to create a house with massive materials, balanced openings and optimum floor height that the interior void can be conditioned with minimum energy. With the large concrete roof in two peace, the house tries to create an emotional approach to the feeling of being under a 'big hat'. The materials we propose for the facade is the sunburst brick that we can cover in two layers with an insulation layer in between which creates a continuation with the existing housing stock in Ukraine where we can see lots of brick textures.
The concrete with a clever mould may create a wooden textured surface that may connect the roof to the site. The house includes a living space, a kitchen, entrance area with pantry, service area with staff room and laundry, 1 master bedroom with bathroom and changing room and three standard bedrooms. A partial basement floor will be providing some technical spaces and storage. There is an external additional closed space that can be used as a hobby room or an office space. This additional space may be enlarged according to the type of use.
